The saga of Alvin Maker, set in an alternative version of the American frontier country, continues, in a tale full of folklore and magic.

Young Alvin returns to the town of his birth and begins his apprenticeship with Makepeace Smith, committing seven years of his life in exchange for the skills and knowledge of a blacksmith. But Alvin must also learn to control and use his own talent, that of a Maker, or else his destiny will be unfulfilled.

Eleştirmen yorumları

"The most important work of American fantasy since Stephen Donaldson's original Thomas covenant trilogy." (Chicago Sun-Times)
"A beguiling book...[a] robust but reflective blend of folktale, history, parable and personal-testimony pioneer narrative. The series promises to be a story of deep delight." (Publishers Weekly)
"Card's epic tale of a magical, alternate America demonstrates his skill in graceful storytelling. Recommended, along with Seventh Son and Red Prophet, for most fantasy collections." (Library Journal)

Brilliant voice acting! and philosophical and endearing story! All the books in these series are 10/10. No one writes a frontier story like Orson, whether sci-fi of fantasy 🔥

I got transported into the story

Not quite the action of "Red Prophet", but still a good read if you have read its two predecessors. The story was a bit slower than Red Prophet but it still keeps you interested and there is a romantic element slowly being introduced to the story now which adds an extra dimension. If you enjoyed the first two books then this one will not let you down. The narration and sound quality are excellent as usual.

A good continuation of the series

Previous books are a little like some weird adventure of some weird little boy. This book gives the story a new depth and makes it much more emotional and philosophical. It feels a bit weird how author tries to back his world with a bit of science, mixing dna and atoms along with magic. But it siera works, and this is definitely not similar to anything i read before. So it's a really interesting piece, I recommend it.

I really liked this book
