I’m her brother’s best friend, and for the past ten years, I’ve also been Addison McKenzie’s dirty little secret.

My pro hockey player lifestyle kept me from her, but I thought we had a good thing going. Burning up the sheets whenever I visited home worked well for us. Or so I thought.

When a season-ending injury sends me back to Starlight Cove, I find out she thinks of me as nothing more than a mistake. She’s trying her hardest to ignore my presence, but being snowed in together is making that difficult. So is sharing a bed. Old habits die hard, and it’s no surprise we fall right back into each other. Undeniable chemistry was never our problem, though. Making it last in the real world was.

But I’ve been in love with Addison for years. And I have no intention of giving up on us now.

Possessive Heart is book 5 in the Starlight Cove series, but it totally stands on its own. This was my first book by this author, and I loved the storyline and characters. I definitely plan on going back to read the previous books as I am curious about their stories now.

Addison McKenzie and Chase Lockhart were a match made in heaven! They had been it for one another for years. Chase being her brother's best friend, they kept the relationship on the down low. After no communication for a year, Chase is back in town, and he is ready to get his girl. I loved their banter and their undeniable attraction. This was a fun listen with plenty of feels throughout. Chase brought on the dirty talk and toy play! I only wish there had been just a little more angst and they had tried to contact one another in various way during that year of not talking. Overall, a delightful listen and one I can see myself listening to again. Can't wait to read more from this author.

Narrated by Stella Hunter and JF Harding - their narration was spot on and delivered a great performance throughout. I didn't want to stop listening and felt their voices worked well for the characters and together.

This is the fifth installment of the Starlight Cove series, and I was captivated by the intense and complex relationship between Addison McKenzie and her brother's best friend, Chase Lockhart. Their decade-long secret affair, characterized by fleeting passionate encounters, takes a dramatic turn when Chase returns to town due to an injury. The story beautifully explores the challenges of transforming a hidden passion into a sustainable relationship amidst the backdrop of a quaint town setting. Chase's unwavering devotion and their undeniable chemistry had me rooting for them throughout. The book skillfully blends humor, emotional depth, and sizzling romance, making it an unforgettable read. It's a testament to the power of love and the importance of fighting for it, even against the odds—the exceptional narration by Stella Hunter and JF Hardin. Hunter captures Addison's complexity with a nuanced performance that reveals her fierce loyalty and vulnerability. On the other hand, Hardin embodies Chase's devotion and charm, making every swoon-worthy moment feel palpably real. Their dynamic narration adds depth to the characters' emotional journeys, elevating the story's humor, heartache, and passion. This audiobook tells a compelling love story and immerses listeners in the idyllic yet charged atmosphere, making it an unforgettable auditory experience.
