He and Stanislaus Oates must tread carefully, and battle some complex family dynamics, to solve the case.

I am not fond of this narrator but his inane performance is made worse by the fact that repetition and yawning have not been edited out. Wherever possible I choose Campion stories narrated by Francis Matthews.

Poor narration and editing

This is my second book in the series narrated by David Thorpe and he spoiled it for me again. His voices are exceedingly poor and are somewhere between parody and incompetence. His female voices, in particular, are simply dreadful. I shall not be keen to make his acquaintance a third time,

Poor characterisations

Very enjoyable in the classic English mystery way. Would recommend highly and will add other titles from this series. Thumbs up

Didn't seem like 9 hours!

Once again, a good story and interpretation by the Narrator but Chapter 15 appears to be poorly edited, with several lines duplicated and even a yawn left in. It did rather let David Thorpe’s excellent narration down a bit.
The story itself, although a good yarn could have done with a good edit, as the Author indulges herself in over-wordy passages, which can get tedious, as can the increasingly irritating persona which Campion dons.
However, I’m sticking with the series in the hope he matures with age😊

Great story, great narration but spoiled by the editing

The dated language won’t be for everyone - but a cracking yarn nevertheless and brilliantly narrated.

Great listen
