A teen is plagued with visions of a terrible future in the first book in the post-apocalyptic The Arcana Chronicles by #1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole—filled with riveting action, the dark mysticism of Tarot cards, and breathtaking romance.

Sixteen year old Evangeline “Evie” Greene leads a charmed life—until she begins experiencing horrifying hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates her Louisiana hometown, killing everyone she loves, Evie realizes her hallucinations were actually visions of the future—and they’re still happening. Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Deveaux.

With his mile-long rap sheet, wicked grin, and bad attitude, Jack is like no boy Evie has ever known. Even though he once scorned her and everything she represented, he agrees to protect Evie on her quest. She knows she can’t totally trust Jack. If he ever cast that seductive smile her way, how could she possibly resist him?

As Jack and Evie race to find the source of her visions, they meet others who have gotten the same call. An ancient prophecy is being played out, and Evie is not the only one with special powers. A group of teens has been chosen to reenact the ultimate battle between good and evil. But it’s not always clear who is on which side… Depression & Mental Health Difficult Situations Emotions & Feelings Literature & Fiction

After the first 4 Chapters I was hooked. This book is different from the normal 'thriller' genre I read but I really enjoyed it. The narator was excellent. I quickly got used to the American accent and really liked her. The story evolved slowly but became more gripping. I'll be reading the second book of the trilogy and also realised that another book I'd already added to my 'wish list' is read by the same narrator, so I'm now looking forward to that even more. I'm a beginner to audio books. This is the 3rd book I tried and I massively enjoyed it.

This book got me hooked on Audio listening!

I had avoided this as I was worried a YA by kresley would not hold a candle to her IAD series ... Then one day had a spare credit and decided to take a chance .... The end result ... 3 nightshifts flew by . I admit I was wrong and this story really caught me . I can't wait for the next instalment

Happy surprise

I love the IAD series and originally I wasn’t interested in these books as they were aimed for teenagers apparently, but i was so wrong. I couldn’t stop listening and the series has me hooked. Book 1 takes a little while to get going, as i think its laying a lot of back story. But it gets better and better as the series continues, I can’t wait for the finally book !!!
Loved the narration in the audio book as well.

Wish I hadn’t wait so long to read this series
