From Wall Street Journal and USA TODAY bestselling author Amy Vansant.

Charlotte awakes to find Mariska and Bob gone, kidnapped from their home. Their disappearance is a message from a familiar killer: Help me or your friends will disappear.

To save her loved ones, Charlotte must find a way to clear her boyfriend's crazy ex of a killing. It may be the only crime the woman didn't commit...but things don't get any easier when someone mistakes Charlotte as a traitor and sends a madman with a distinctive "tattoo" and unusual gang of deadly pets to stop her.

I haven't read an Amy Vansant book that I haven't given a five star rating to and I am not about to start with this book either.
This book continues where pineapple gingerbread men left off (if you haven't read that book then why not?) Stephanie has been charged with murder. Yeah about time the only problem is she didn't do this one and her crazy serial killer mother is on the rampage. This all means for one resident of Pineapple Port retirement community things are going to get complicated as she gets blackmailed into trying to clear Stephanie 's umm good name.
You can always count on Amy to write about the unexpected and throw twists at you that are fun, entertaining and amusing. All in all you can pick up any of her pineapple Port books and know that you are in for a good read. Even if you don't start with the first book. The above review is what I wrote after reading the book, now after listening to the audio book version I can safely say everything I wrote still applies and I am glad I got the audio book version, so I could enjoy it again. To be honest I had forgotten how good it was. The unique method of killing was a little bit scary but oh so entertaining. The story is told by multiple characters as there is a lot of moving and hilarious parts to the story. On to the next audio book.

Its a crime not to enjoy

I initially began this series as my nighttime insomnia selection thinking cheap and cheerful BUT after a couple of books in, the stories and characters have become firm favourites i genuinely laugh out loud. Not my usual type but i recommend giving these a go if you like a humorous murder mystery that’s not the Thursday club, agatha raisin type of rubbish but not gory either .

Engaging read/ listen
