Gareth of Ravenscar has always been skeptical of leaving it to fate to provide him with a mate, but everything changes when a feisty little human awakens an undeniable need within him.

Though she is a servant to one, Sloan has no desire to be the mate of a wolf, especially one as gruff and demanding as Gareth. But can she resist the call of the alpha fate has chosen for her?

Overlord is set in the same world as Warlord and has some intermingling characters. If you’ve read Warlord then you see one of the same scenes (the climax of Warlord is the starting point for Overlord’s story). I liked how Delta James used the prologue as the epilogue to Gareth and Sloan’s story. I love the characters, especially the strong, independent females who try their matte’s patience quite frequently.

I received this audiobook for free from Audiobooks Unleashed. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Such a Fun World

Overlord is a super-steamy fantasy romance with a ridiculously good narration. Jack Calihan performance is outstanding, he does an exceptional job narrating this audiobook. His ability to modify his voice to best suit the characters, emotions and situation is marvellous. Furthermore, he has a very pleasing, deep, and masculine voice.

The book has some similarities to the Warlord; however, I think I like this one better. The story is well-plotted, the characters are engaging, and it's packed with spanking, domestic discipline, and male domination. The one thing I didn't like is the ideas regarding women's role in the wolf-shifter society. The customs were very primitive and not at all appealing.

Overall, if you're looking for a hot erotic romance with somewhat a historical feel to it and fabulous narration, Overlord is a fantastic choice. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

Outstanding Narration!

This book was so so steamy. I really liked the characters and the defiant attitude of the leading lady. She’s sassy and won’t let anyone walk all over her. Excellent narration from Jack.

Wow, very hot.
