'One of the best British crime writers' – Lee Child

Roy Grace is about to find out just how dangerous a dead man can be . . .

Arriving late for a funeral, James Taylor spots a familiar face in the church – his old schoolfriend Rufus Rorke.

Except it couldn’t be him, could it? Because two years ago Taylor attended Rufus’s funeral. He even delivered the eulogy.

On the other side of Brighton, at Police HQ, Detective Superintendent Roy Grace has been alerted to a number of suspicious deaths that he can’t get out of his mind. But how are they linked? And could they possibly be connected to Rufus Rorke?

One Of Us Is Dead is a race-against-time instalment of the award-winning Grace series by Peter James, now a major ITV show starring John Simm.

A gripping story is well written with excellent narration. The complex storyline was easy to follow and the characters easy to track, The downside was it was difficult to put down. I did not fall asleep once on a long listen.

This was better than a film.

Binged it in two days. Still the same high standard of writing and narration as the very first.

As usual Peter James delivered the outmost thrilling crime story, the characters are just their usual part with sense of humour

Great performance by Daniel Wayman, and another great story from Peter James. I like the little 'plants' for further stories.... we thought we'd seen the last of CP, but doesn't look like we have. 😄
I binged this book, carried it aound with me, even in the shower.

Great story, great performance.

Peter James’s books just get better and better, whereas some authors’ series become formulaic. Not so with this innovative storyteller. One of us is Dead was as un-put-down-able as his previous Roy Grace novels. Another extremely well researched book.

Better and Better
