When child psychologist Juno discovers her late mother’s secret journal, she inherits more than memories—she inherits GiGi, a clown mask that hunts abusers and predators in blood-soaked “performances.”

At first, Juno resists, but the whispers grow louder, and soon justice and murder blur into one painted smile. Now the question isn’t whether Juno can stop GiGi… it’s whether she even wants to.

The subtitle of the book "For The Ones Who No One Heard" gives a very good idea of how this story is going to go down. Juno is a child psychologist who 'inherits' GiGi, the ghost of a murderous clown who hunts down child abusers and predators. Basically, if you've ever seen a news item that touches on those types of people, and you've felt a hot rage at the injustice of the world, this audiobook might be for you, because justice is served in blood-stained buckets. The descriptions of said murders are detailed and colourful; author Kila Reign is a skilled writer who is handy with a well-placed simile, and she's not shy about burning some gruesome mental images into your imagination as she drags you along in her funhouse of horrors. You'll be surprised how many uses a balloon pump has!
Narrator Kelli Morehead does an excellent job of giving Juno and GiGi very distinct personalities and voices, and it's often easy to forget that you're not listening to 2 different people talking to each other. Murder scenes are described with a subtle glee, as if we're 'seeing' the carnage from GiGi's perspective rather than an impartial observer, which really drags you into each scene. Keli injects quiet rage into her reading while delving into descriptions of child abuse, and it's hard to not get swept along in a wave of white hot vengeance as GiGi goes to work on monsters even greater than her.

Overall, an excellent story and listening experience. My only criticism is that it's not long enough!

For those who like justice with their murder
