St. Irenaeus of Lyons
In On the Apostolic Preaching, Saint Irenaeus of Lyon provides a clear and compelling summary of the Christian faith, emphasizing the unity of God revealed through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Written in the second century—a time marked by competing religions and philosophies—this foundational work calls believers to remain faithful to Scripture, which recounts God’s saving actions and the covenant that draws humanity into communion with Him.
As one of the most influential theologians of the early Church, Irenaeus offers profound insights into the apostolic message that shaped Christian thought for generations. This new translation from Armenian makes his teachings accessible, showcasing his Christ-centered interpretation of Scripture as the key to understanding God’s plan for salvation.
Whether you’re new to the Church Fathers or looking to deepen your theological understanding, On the Apostolic Preaching offers timeless wisdom for holding fast to the truth of the Gospel. The SVS Press audiobook program is sponsored by St. Symeon Illumination Fund. If you are interested in sponsoring the creation of an SVS Press audiobook, please contact us at media@svots.edu.
