Sheriff Bree Taggert becomes a target when she follows the twisting trail of a serial killer in a bone-chilling novel of suspense by #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author Melinda Leigh.

A pair of hikers find a tarp-wrapped body in a clearing in the woods. When a search in the surrounding area yields two more, Sheriff Bree Taggert knows they’ve stumbled onto a serial killer’s dumping ground.

With the help of investigator Matt Flynn, Bree works the case. They go to interview Jana, the best friend of one of the victims. But when they arrive at her apartment, it’s been ransacked and set on fire. And Jana is missing.

It’s clear the killer is escalating. To make matters worse, he threatens Bree’s family and a young mother vanishes. Will Bree and Matt uncover the link between the victims before more women die?

It's all hands on deck as flu sweeps through Grey's Hollow and Sheriff Bree Taggert is on the hunt for a serial killer in the small town.

Once again, she relies on the skills of Investigator Matt Flynn in helping her work towards solving and apprehending possible suspects.

I love Bree's leadership style. How she won't ask any of her deputies to undertake a task she isn't prepared to do herself.

This novel has an undercurrent of domestic violence which might be problematic for some readers but probably fairly standard for sheriff departments I'd imagine.

All in all another successful investigation for Sheriff Taggert and another winner from Melinda Leigh.

Ms Leigh truly knows how to weave a great story with good and bad characters you can invest in equally. The twist and turns of this story is filled with pace, suspense and kick arse action

Great suspense

Excellent crime drama. The odd red fish just to make it interesting, nice to see karma at work. Not sure I would want to live in the area.

Good plot

Bree and Matt are once again sucked into a horrifying and brutal case that not only has you questioning all of humanity, but that also eats at your soul. Innocent lives cut short by monsters that show no remorse makes it very difficult for anyone to continue their daily lives with no impact, but for Bree and Matt who know life can change from one second to the next, they know they need to keep their heads in the game so they can safely return to the kids who need them. The family they are building is beautiful, it may not be built by blood, but it is built with love and includes Dana, Cady, Todd and Matt's parents, it is awesome to see just how much the kids have opened up and grown in confidence over the past year.
An amazing, but haunting, read on Kindle Unlimited.
