OCD sucks. It’s loud. It’s bossy. And it’s really good at convincing you that you need to do what it says. But what if you stopped taking orders from it?In OCD Sucks: A Survival Guide, anxiety and OCD therapist Natasha Daniels takes more than two decades of clinical experience and turns evidence-based OCD treatment into a simple, practical guide for taking your life back. No complicated therapy jargon. No worksheets. No endless analyzing of your thoughts. Just straightforward tools you can start using when OCD shows up. Natasha introduces OCD as the Paper Dragon, a beast that can look terrifying and powerful but is actually just made of paper. Throughout the book, you’ll learn how to recognize the Dragon, stop feeding it, break its rules, and build the skills to face OCD without letting it run your life.Whether OCD shows up as contamination, harm thoughts, relationship doubts, morality, health fears, “just right” feelings, disgust, or something entirely different, the costume isn’t the point.Different costumes. Same Dragon. You don’t have to slay your Dragon overnight. You just have to stop letting it call all the shots.©2026 Natasha Daniels (P)2026 Natasha Daniels Anxiety Disorders Compulsive Disorders Mental Health Personal Development Psychology Psychology & Mental Health

This a clear and practical, easy listen on a topic which is anything but. Natasha has created an easy to follow and engaging book which describes and discusses four different peoples experiences. She manages to weave into each character's stories, a number of different types of OCD. I listened to the whole book in one sitting and have come away feeling more armed to help my daughter defeat her dragon.

Natasha cleverly weaves helpful case studies into this concise and informative book/audiobook.
I have two children (12 and 19) with OCD and found the insight into the minds of the case studied individuals really helpful.
Natasha balances sound clinical advice in an interesting format and gives a clear process to follow to help OCD sufferers beat their dragons.
Now to see if I can encourage my kids to listen!
The themes in the book are suited towards older children and adults but as OCD can show up with any theme at any age I’d recommend it for parents of young children too.
Excellent, don’t hesitate to give it a go.

Well worth a listen.

OCD Sucks is such a helpful and accessible book. I really liked how the different scenarios cover so many areas of OCD and explain them in a way that is easy to understand and relate to.

The idea of the dragon is especially effective. It gives OCD a visual identity, which makes it easier to recognise what is happening and understand that you don’t have to listen to it. I think this is a brilliant way of helping someone separate themselves from their OCD and gives a really positive and practical way of approaching it.

It’s clear, relatable and reassuring, and I really like how everything is broken down step by step, helping you look beyond the individual thoughts and behaviours and get to the core beliefs underneath them. It makes it much easier to understand what is going on and how to begin challenging it.
