Now I Got It explores the journey of a young woman figuring life out from a teenager to young adult.
There is a saying that it takes a village to raise a child, but what happens when the child grows up? A Chicago girl shares her true story of growing up with her great-aunt and uncle. In this short memoir, Nicole writes about her dad, who tries his best to catch up after not being there as a child, and failed relationships with men.
Oh, and there's the car window glass shattering from a drive-by, and more.
This book was written in an effort to explain why Nicole K Jackson started a nonprofit for young adults to continue raising children from the village. She now lives in California, has a family of her own, and is on a journey to raise awareness of the struggles of young adulthood.
