A forbidden, secret affair proves that all's fair in love and science - from Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling author Ali Hazelwood.

Rue Siebert might not have it all, but she has enough: a few friends she can always count on; the financial stability she yearned for as a kid; and a successful career as a biotech engineer at Kline, one of the most promising start-ups in the field of food science. Her world is stable, pleasant, and hard-fought. Until a hostile takeover and its offensively attractive front man threatens to bring it all crumbling down.

Eli Killgore and his business partners want Kline, period. Eli has his own reasons for pushing this deal through - and he's a man who gets what he wants. With one burning exception: Rue. The woman he can't stop thinking about. The woman who's off-limits to him.

Torn between loyalty and an undeniable attraction, Rue and Eli throw caution out the lab and the boardroom windows. Their affair is secret, no-strings-attached, and has a built-in deadline: the day one of their companies will prevail. But the heart is risky business - one that plays for keeps.

l loved this book to bits and am mad about myself not picking it up earlier. The dual POV was satisfying, the duett narattion was EXCELLENT, Jason is just 👌. But both narrators did an outstanding job. I love me a good "he falls first" trope and how the MC just can't help but go all overexcited teenboy about being with her in bed at the beginning haha 🤩 cute.
Sometimes relationships start in the bed,not every love story is a romantic comedy, and in that sense it is Ali's most realistic story. The side characters were hilarious and loveable, and hope that we get Maya's and
Rues's bestie's story.

It is spicier than Ali's other books, but I don't consider this Erotica. It's funny how ppl categorize this too spicy. Well read reviews and warnings, do your homework.

So anyone who rated this 1☆ you did this to yourself, there was a warning at the beginning!

couldn't wait to rave about this :)

I enjoyed the narration, the story was a little lacking at points and slightly repetitive, however still very good!

Great!

What an absolutely phenomenal book. Wow, wow, wow. Five solid stars from me—no question about it.

Honestly, this might just be my favourite book of Ali’s to date. The writing is electric, the emotion is raw, and the story had me completely hooked from start to finish. I laughed, I cried, I blushed… it had everything. Ali has outdone herself with this one.

Eli Killgore? Without a doubt my favourite male main character she’s ever written. He is intense, complex, and utterly unforgettable. I couldn’t get enough of him.

Jason Clarke and Callie Dalton, were also phenomenal, omgg I have really loved listening to Jason narrated lately, he’s just such an emotive voice to listen to!
