I didn't flee one monster just to be claimed by another.

When the Monster Relations Bureau tells me I've been identified as a kraken shifter's mate, my first instinct is to run. I learned the hard way what it means to be treated like someone's possession, and I'm not about to make the same mistake twice.

Only, Elias is… different. Patient and careful with me, willing to wait as long as it takes for me to let him in. The more I learn to trust him, and the more he draws me under with the dark temptation of his touch, the more the defenses I've held onto for so long start to crumble.

Still, he's not the only monster I've dealt with. And when the human monster from my past finally catches up with me, I'll have to decide if I trust Elias enough to let him help me, protect me, and claim me as his, even though being possessed has only ever left me broken and afraid.

Nora's Kraken is a full-length monster romance with a guaranteed HEA. Intended for mature listeners.

I’ve been wanting to read / listen to this book for a while now and finally got to it.
The story pleasantly surprised me, and the beginning was refreshingly different from usual fated mates stories. The care that is portrayed by the MMC is wonderful and makes me jealous! The traumatic history of the FMC was maybe a bit under developed, but it would probably take away from the romance that was blooming, I’m not really decided on that.
I would definitely recommend this book!

While the story is good and the VAs are excellent, I feel this story focuses more on her trauma and her psycho ex then on the romance between the two main characters. The fact that she keeps making her new love pay for her ex's mistreatment is a little off putting. But the kraken's genuine sweetness and understanding is what saves it for me. It is still a good story but there are allot of triggers, so be forewarned. I do wish the author would have shared more of the kraken's past with us as it seemed like it would have been interesting. Still a good listen.

A book about healing and trauma mixed with a monster romance.
