Funny, surprising, original, written in texts and letters, with friendly black-and-white illustrations, this is a joyous book about the things that are truly valuable. (Nicolette Jones)

A comic novel so light on its feet, it is positively levitating
It’s a relief to find Frank Cottrell-Boyce cheering us on with his irrepressible boy narrator in Noah’s Gold [...] An adventure whose wit and energy recalls E Nesbit’s immortal Oswald Bastable, this is an absolute tonic about using your head instead of relying on technology, or adults (Amanda Craig)

Frank Cottrell-Boyce's stories make you laugh and cry. He's the real deal for children of eight and over. (Amanda Craig)
With a nod to classics like Lord Of The Flies and Treasure Island this is a rip-roaring tale of buried treasure.
A laugh-out-loud writer
There’s always a buzz of excitement in the air when a new Frank Cottrell-Boyce book hits the shelves and the award-winning author certainly strikes gold with this rip-roaring adventure.
Frank Cottrell-Boyce has created a brilliantly sympathetic and funny character in Noah, and his insecurity about being the smallest, the youngest, and the person seemingly responsible for everything going wrong makes him a wonderfully relatable hero.
This book absolutely sizzles and sparks with Frank’s most marvellous sense of humour. It’s cheeky, funny, heart-warming and so full of love.
a funny and life-affirming tale about co-operation and resourcefulness, with a Blytonesque hidden-loot subplot thrown in.
A gently funny story for eight-plus, with a warm, classic feel.
"Packed with mystery, adventure and laughs, Noah’s Gold by Frank Cottrell-Boyce (Macmillan, €15.50), is like an Irish Lord of the Flies, where the pupils have to govern themselves on an island after their teacher disappears. An engaging book with amazing illustrations, even a map."
Noah's Gold is fantastically fun, packed with action and overflows with heart as the group get closer and friendships bloom. It would make a brilliant class novel (and a fab film too!) I thoroughly recommend this clever, comic caper.
This wacky, comical, entertaining tale reels its way through to the final rescue involving foil blankets and hot chocolate. A brilliant read for the eights-plus.
A new book from this multi-award-winning author is always something to celebrate! Full of his trademark wit and warmth, endearing characters, and a cracking plot, this is indeed a joyous read. [...] A beautifully observed gem.
