Marc Seidman's idyllic world is brutally ripped apart when he is gunned down in his home. Twelve days later he wakes up in hospital to learn that his wife is dead and his baby daughter Tara is missing. A ransom demand is made and agreed to. But something goes terribly wrong. The kidnappers escape, and Marc remembers the ransom note's ominous warning: there will be no second chance.

An agonising eighteen months pass with no word. And then, as Marc has just about given up all hope of seeing his daughter again, a package arrives with a note attached: want a second chance?

The note is chilling, but Marc sees only one thing: the chance to save his daughter. And, haunted by deception and deadly secrets - about his wife, about an old love, and about his own past - he vows to bring Tara home...at any cost.

Another good one by Harlan Coben lots of twists. Struggled with the voice though at times after reading in robot tone he seemed to forget to change back and spoke like it when he didn’t need to

Good

I enjoyed this book, lots of twists and turns as usual! I would recommend it thoroughly although I found the narrater hard to get used to.

Another great book

Firstly, I thought this was a new book, its actually quite old.

Secondly, the narrators voice wasn't right for the character.
I'm not sure if his voice sounded older or it was because it needed more authority.

However I did enjoy the story, my only criticism is that it needed a bit more oomph, but that could be down to the narration.

Convoluted story at the end but another good listen from Harlen - bring them on for more listens

Another great book by Harlan Coben. I almost didn’t listen due to the negative reviews of the narrator however, I found him to be really good (I listen on speed 1.2). The book had a real plot twist and I enjoy being surprised by a stroy. Highly recommend.

Great plot twist
