Adventure? Check. Magic? Check. Sarcasm? You bet.

Roguish Never is sure he has hunted down every relic and every clue possible on his quest to finally lift the curse on his blood and hopefully learn his true name. However, convincing the wealthy Lord Firmita to part with a map to the sunken city proves to be far more dangerous than he first imagined.

An awesome short story prequel to The Amber Isle the first book in The Book Of Never series, Never is a cracking character, so sarcastic, witty and just an out and out relatable protagonist you could read about all day, after I read this prequel, I just had to download the wholeseries and see what trouble Never gets up to and there is seven books and each book is a specific adventure in Never's quest to learn about himself and where he came from, this prequel sets the stage for the following books, Never, a thief, is blackmailed into stopping a robbery, but he is actually a double crossed, he uses the robbery to gain access to the palace, and explains how he receives the map that sets him on this quest of discovery, Never has a wicked sense of humor, as well as a sense of honour, after this little beauty, I'll be starting the first book straight away, the worldbuilding, plot and setting is something I will definitely grow to love, the narration by Joshua Macrea was brilliant, highly recommend...😁
