From the Amazon.com and Wall Street Journal #1 bestselling authors of the Zodiac Academy series Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti. The dragons are lost. The elements are at war. Enlisting isn’t optional. And I’m falling for a man who wants me dead.I’m a wielder of hearts and summoner of corruption. Heir to nothing and born to a fool in the wrong damn month. But I’m also one of only two Fae in this divided land of hellions who might be starting to see through the lies we’ve swallowed for so long.In the year we turn twenty-one, conscripts from across the warring nations of air, fire, earth and water are sent to Never Keep – the only place in our besieged continent where our magic can be Awakened. But something is wrong inside Never Keep. Something which might extend far beyond the reaches of this desolate fortress. Within the gothic walls of this frigid castle in the snow, we’re left to hold our own against the brutal Fae from the opposing lands. The Reapers are merciless. The Royals are lying. The Werewolves run rampant and Vampires roam the wastelands in bloodthirsty covens. But even though death lurks in every shadow of the Keep, it’s the least of my worries.I’m delving into secrets the stars don’t want me uncovering, making alliances with Fae born to be my enemy, falling for a sinner while promising my heart to a different heathen and somewhere amid it all, I’m supposed to win a war.I thought the only thing I had to do was survive my magical instruction.Turns out, fate doesn’t favour the wicked.***This is an enemies-to-lovers romantasy series set in the same world as Zodiac Academy, but it's a dark and villainous tale of its own. You haven't met tainted souls like these before or enemies that hate each other as deeply as these characters do. Book 1 in the series will leave your heart raw and bloody. You'll be left gasping for breath and aching for more of the twisted Fae and they might just be irredeemable... ***©2024 Caroline Peckham, Susanne Valenti (P)2025 Caroline Peckham, Susanne Valenti Dark Fantasy Fantasy Paranormal Samimi Kurgu Savaş

!The end of chapter 21 is cut off!

It was ok but it took me a long time to get into it, I’ve read pretty much everything else from the authors and this definitely wasn’t my favourite. I had to listen to it sped up because it was so slow at some parts

It’s ok but not as good as their other books

Ok so not zodiac academy, but set in the same world. Which helps understanding the magic system and elements / star signs and fae creatures, but that’s where the similarities end.
The elements are at war with each other, they don’t get awakened till later , there are some creepy as f**k religious cult leaders that are suppose to be Switzerland between the elements. And somehow the waring elements trust these people to send all their 21 year olds to a train academy to, chaos , fighting … murder lots happens and the twist and turns along the way are amazing. I love this book and I’m desperate for book 2
Oh and I’m totally team Sky witch …❤️❤️

Love these authors and their characters but the performance on this audiobook is awful. Inexplicably overacted and almost impossible to listen to !

Unexpected plot twists

I didn't really know what to expect from this new series. I knew it was set in the world of Solaria, the same as Zodiac Academy (but no need to have read that series) so assumed I'd like it, but I found this first instalment truly gripping, I absolutely LOVED it.
This series feels more like epic Romantasy than others by the authors - place and geography are more significant than in other series and the world building is done really well. Its a big bold setting and it feels like the scene is set for some high drama to come.
There are some great morally grey characters and I really enjoyed how the main players developed across the book. There's the usual mix of strength, love and humour that the authors write so well.
But as usual with these authors, they seem to live to rip the heart out of their readers/listeners and this new series is clearly no different! That ending!!! I'm so excited about what's going to happen next in the plot though, that I almost forgive them (almost).
The narration from Bridget and Jake was wonderful, as it always is with this talented duo. Mainly Bridget in this book, she is just so good at adapting her tone and timing for the different characters, it's a pleasure to listen to her.
There are so many questions that need answering and this series is only just getting started. I'm counting down the days until the next book!

Stunning start to this epic new series
