She’s looking for love. I know the perfect man. My husband.

To the rest of the world, he’s charming, delightful Freddie. No one knows what he’s really like behind closed doors.

And how can I ever escape a man everyone loves?

Over dinner I say, casually, carefully, ‘My friend Cat is looking for a date.’ I pass him a picture. Ask if he knows anyone.

I’m betting Freddie will see young, pretty Cat and decide to meet her himself. He’ll never know that I’m pulling the strings. And then, finally, the world will see exactly what kind of man I married.

But what I don’t know is that Cat came into my life for a reason. She isn’t looking for love. She has her own plans.

And the clever trap I set for my husband could burn my whole world down…

A completely gripping psychological thriller about love, marriage, secrets and revenge that will leave you gasping at the twists. Perfect for fans of Lucy Foley, Gillian Flynn and Claire Douglas.

the story itself was alright but I can't say I cared about the plight of Megan, really found her boring and repetitive and quite frankly not a very sympathetic character, not just for what she obviously did being a selfish friend.
other characters were ok. I just felt something missing, that magic that helps you identify with the characters was absent.
if you want a run of the mill story, where the everything is glaringly obvious, then this is for you.

a good read

Kept me guessing right up to the end - excellent narration which helps to keep you on your toes and wanting to listen more - highly recommend this audible.

This book took me a while to finish. I became disinterested half way through as the pace was slow and the main character, Cat, was annoying. However, I never like to give up so went back to it and it picked up pace and the twists and turns kept my interest. I guessed the ending but I’ll definitely give another of this author’s books a go.

A new author for me - worth a read

The twists and turns were absolutely edge of your seat stuff, written from each characters perspective.

Fabulous!

The story was good and I liked the twists and turns but the narrator was woeful
