Jake Trout, age 30, returns to his hometown for his famous father’s funeral. Jake left home immediately after high school for college to escape his father’s literary name. Now that he has finally returned home and begins reviewing his father’s estate, he learns his father was more than a literary superstar.
With his mother having passed years ago, Jake finds himself in a tangled, diabolical web as he competes with his stepmother for both his father’s riches and rights to his father’s writings. The one catch? Jake’s father has left behind a novel with a blank final chapter.
Whichever of the two finishes the final chapter wins both riches and ownership of the Trout name. My Father’s Secret is a heartfelt story about the relationship between father and son and the secrets of those we look up to.
