Murder is in full bloom, but can Steph and her sidekick Mouse weed out the killer?

It's an invitation Steph Williams can't refuse when she's handpicked to compete in a flower show at the prestigious National Trust property of Coleton Fishacre. With the country's top garden designers as rivals and a stunning historic estate for inspiration, it feels like a dream come true.

But things quickly turn thorny when the youngest competitor falls mysteriously ill and Steph suspects foul play. Her fears are confirmed when a scream echoes through the gardens, leading her to the shocking sight of a dead body at the foot of a cliff.

With her trusty dog Mouse by her side, Steph's determined not to let the culprit slip through the cracks. Uncovering the truth in a garden full of suspects is no easy task, but Steph must see the wood for the trees before the murderer prunes out the competition - for good! This is the third outing for Steph and Mouse. The ongoing mystery of Steph’s birth mother and her missing no good ex husband continue their slow burn in the background of another horticultural mystery. The main murder motivation was less convincing than the previous outings, but the red herrings were interesting. I’m looking forward to Steph’s next adventure, and more unfolding of her personal mysteries.
The narrator does a good job of different characters and accents.

Enjoyable cosy with lots of garden lore & a cute dog

I listen to this series through Audible. And it has been a big stress relief when moving house. I love the narrators voice as she so perfectly captures the characters. The pacing and tome work well.

I enjoyed the change setting. And found the character list at the start helpful. Though it was still hard to keep all the characters straight in my head there were so many! I like the Inclusion on some non binary characters. But they did feel very 2 dimensional. It would be great to see some more flushed out characters. But honestly loved the book.

Another Good installment
