A mansion, a title, and marriage to a wealthy Lord, Lady Eveline Cartwright has it all. Unfortunately, it's not enough to prevent her from being bludgeoned to death one night in the study of Merisham Lodge, the family's country estate in Derbyshire. Suspicion quickly falls on her ne'er-do-well son, Peter, but not everyone in the household is convinced of his guilt. Head kitchen maid Joan Hart and lady's maid Verity Hunter know that when it comes to a crime, all is not always as it seems. With suspicions and motives thick on the ground, Joan and Verity must use all the wit and courage they possess to expose a deadly murderer who will stop at nothing to achieve their aim...

Well written murder mystery. Very enjoyable and twisting plot. I thought the narration was excellent. Look forward to more by this author .

Briiliant story and the narration is superb. Had to listen to the end. N gripping. Looking forward to the next chapter in the series. Well done.

Excellent story.

Was read so fast and didn’t sound right when I slowed it down. Mostly in a monotone with not many breaths.
Would have been a much better listen with a different narrater as couldn’t settle into it like I usually do.

5/10

I have heard another audiobook with a very similar plot to this one, but this book is better! It’s very well-written with enjoyable characters, and an exciting story. The narration is excellent too. I will definitely be watching for more books by this author.

Fantastic

The narrator really needs to learn to slow down her speech. It is fine if there is an urgency, but she was going full pelt from the start. It detracted from the story and made it far less enjoyable.

The speed of Narration but not in a good way
