Lady Vivienne Harlowe doesn't fear much, and delves into life's experiences head on. But for years she's been plagued by the unsolved murders of her parents and the strange disappearance of other family members. Now, in the face of a new tragedy, she vows to follow every twist and turn until she's solved the dark deeds at Mablethorpe Castle.

Sheriff Zachariah Fitch rushes to the scene, ready to investigate the corpse discovered under the castle stairs. He's determined to catch the murderer, but his childhood friend, Lady Vivienne Harlowe proves to be more than a distraction. She insists on helping him hunt down the killer, not caring about the danger. Still guilt-ridden for not solving the murders of Lady Vivienne's parents, Zachariah feels obliged to let her assist him. But as Harlowe and Fitch dig deeper into the murder, the danger only worsens.

An intrigue-filled story with excellent worldbuilding, delightful characters, and enough puzzlement to keep you on your toes. I loved Vivienne and Zach and their relationship. Kevin E Green’s narration is top-notch and greatly entertaining.

A review copy of this book was sent to me by the narrator. All of the above opinions are my own.

An intrigue-filled story.

I have never written a review but this book was so awful I felt compelled. If you have a very short attention span you may get to the end of the book..but I gave up after 5 chapters because I couldn't tolerate one more comment about the trauma and dead parents. I got that in the first chapter. I do not need reminders every 5 minutes.

the repetitive phrase of her trauma and murdered parents

Lady Vivienne Harlowe has been living with her Aunt and Uncle at Mablethorpe Castle for seven years. She is not your typical Lady she likes using her fathers soard and has a sixth scene when it come to danger. When one an important guest of her uncle is murdered she is determined to find the murderer. Her childhood friend Zachariah Fitch is now sheriff and he is also determined to find the murderer, but wants Lady Vivienne to stay safe and not get involved.
