Really enjoyed this book which follows the lives of two sisters. Not a lot of laughs but I liked the development of the characters.

Thought provoking and intense.

Really enjoyed this novel: good story; well-developed characters; sense of history and changes in attitudes over the decades. Though not in any way chick lit, the story encapsulates the choices women have had to make - and still make today. Worth a credit!!

Beautifully written following the lives of women, attitude changes over the years . Racism and oppression. S.assault and gender . This is not my usual genre, I like funny or thrillers, of which this defiant but I really wanted to see how life turns out for these women. It was quite something and whilst sad I'm uplifted and it reminds us we are at a place in time, and it will keep
Moving when we are gone. I've listened twice now.
