L.A. Gallagher’s “Mine” is an amazing start to the “Kincaid Syndicate” series, an exciting Irish Mafia romance that grabs your attention immediately and holds it hostage throughout. Dominic is the leader of the Syndicate in Dublin and was having a meeting with his brothers when she, Aoife O’Shea, a runaway bride, comes rushing in, crashing right into him. And he liked what he felt and saw, and after hearing her story and her pleas, he came up with a solution that would benefit them both. Aoife’s father owed money to Rory Kavanagh, the Kincaid’s rivals, and sold her out as payment via an arranged marriage. Rory is a vulgar man, and she wanted nothing to do with him, with no one on her side to help her she ran, not really thinking, but she may have run from the frying pan into the fire, trading one marriage to monster for another. Except Dominic is nothing like Rory, and despite what she thought of him and his reputation, he treated her well and with respect. It was great watching these two navigate their new relationship and fast-forward to a marriage of convenience all to draw Rory out and put an end to a pact made with the Kavanagh family. There was an undeniable chemistry between Dominic and Aoife, a sizzling hot one, and it did not take long for them to give into it and take the relationship from fake to real. This masterfully crafted, multi-layered story has a perfect balance of drama, angst, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance and kink. There is a touch of humor too, thanks to Ciaran, who likes to push Dominic’s buttons. The writing, plot, and world-building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. L.A. Gallagher, thank you for the fantastic story and wild ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing audiobook listen and production performed in duet by K.C. Sheridan and Joe Arden, who were incredible at bringing the characters to life with voices that were fitting and convincing, accents and all. Sheridan nailed it as Aoife and was a natural in the role, grasping every facet of her personality, from her innocence to her strength and determination. Arden’s Dominic was perfection, an alpha Dom with a side of possessive protectiveness, as well as a ruthless leader, also loved his take on Ciaran. Both were fantastic performing the roles of the side/secondary characters, too. They set the ideal tone for the story, and their expressive delivery conveys all the characters’ emotions and passion, making you feel them all. This perfect casting and pairing was a joy to listen to, and their enthralling performance kept me entertained and hooked on the story the entire time.
