Meredith Maggs hasn't left her house in 1,214 days. But she insists she isn't alone . . .

She has her cat Fred. Her friend Sadie visits when she can. There's her online support group, StrengthInNumbers. She has her jigsaws, favourite recipes, her beloved Emily Dickinson, the internet, the Tesco delivery man and her treacherous memories for company.

But something's about to change. Whether Meredith likes it or not, the world is coming to her door . . . Does she have the courage to overcome what's been keeping her inside all this time?

Just finished the audio version of
Meredith, Alone
It tackles some tough subjects and explored why someone would choose isolation
It's a book that pushes you and I found myself smiling at the small victories Meredith achieved such as taking a few steps outside her front door

Narrated beautifully. A poignant and moving story which is amazingly written. Heavy at times yes, but dealt with delicately.

Brilliant, moving book

brilliant book, well written, authentic, likeable lead character. Narrator's voice was so easy to listen to, really enjoyed the way the book included Merediths past life.

Loved this, a character driven novel which is always my favourite and I really cared for Meredith and Fiona feeling desperately sorry for their experiences. Stress and trauma manifests itself so differently in different personalities and the author explored this and developed the characters to show is this. Beautifully narrated. I highly recommend this. Caution needed as rape, alcohol abuse and emotional abuse are subject matter.

Excellent
