I am very grateful this book was written. When I find out the reason for the majority of my behaviours, it felt settling and reassuring. I have an idea of how adhd assessments and treatment from a doctor for menopause will go, it feels less frightening.

Just what I needed

I loved the way Helen explained the science behind what is happening in my brain. Every chapter was detailed and well explained, and whilst the book is for those who experience both peri-menopause and ADHD the chapters on ADHD would be useful for those with ADHD. Such a useful book for those who have found entering perimenopause has totally torpedoed their coping mechanisms and who are trying to find their way back to themselves.

An informative guide to for those struggling with midlife

I preordered this book as realised that my perimenopause experience was greatly worsened by my ADHD-status. Dr Wall didn't disappoint. Loved the way that each chapter concluded with a recap of primary points. Grateful that Testosterone and Progesterone were also covered. Having privately tried the former, I was the 40% for whom Testosterone didn't reduce my joint & muscle pain or brain fog, but for some it helps.

The injustice of medical research being focused on men, and GPS training ignoring perimenopause was highlighted.

The author was the ideal choice to narrate and had a wonderful, calming voice. This publication was extremely comprehensive and enlightening. My only wish is that it mentioned when HRT is not absorbed by the body. A friend had to pay for private women's health consultant support due to this issue. I was about to give up employment and was becoming increasingly isolated by not leaving the house due to the severity of my then-undiagnosrd ADHD/Perimenopause symptoms. Only by paying hundreds of pounds to receive Perimenopause treatment, was it found that I too was not absorbing the maximum dose HRT prescribed by my GP. A simple change of where to administer the gel and within days, I could function almost normally again. Originally it took a year for my GPs to prescribe HRT and they later admitted that they weren't aware lack of absorbing was an issue.

The author is correct in saying how little our clinicians know about Perimenopause and one assumes, even less about the interplay with ADHD. Thus I am recommending this excellent book to my GP friends, pals with daughters who in time will go through this life-change and those adults currently navigating this challenging time. Thank you so much for this book!

A long overdue, game-changer
