Meltdown investigates and recreates the dramatic events behind the most notorious nuclear accidents in history, as well as those shrouded in secrecy.

Combining human tragedy with intriguing science, each account reveals new aspects of humanity's complex relationship with nuclear power and the ongoing struggle to harness and control it. From the pioneers of Los Alamos who got up close and personal with the cores of atomic bombs, to the hapless engineers in Soviet fuel-processing plants who unwittingly mixed up a disaster in a bucket, and from the terrifying impact of a tsunami at Fukushima to the mystery of the recent Russian incident, Meltdown explores the past and future of this extraordinary and potentially lethal source of infinite power Disaster Relief History History & Philosophy Physics Science Social Sciences Rusya Sovyetler Birliği

Not sure if the other person reviewing this book has even listened to the whole book as it's not atal anti nuclear and just gives an accurate account of what went wrong and why. The book even says fossil fuels as a source of energy has killed many more people than nuclear and that accidents at green energy plants have been fatal. Overall this book is factual but also entertaining and I would recommend it to anyone interested in the science and the dangers of nuclear energy

Unbiased, factual and interesting!

This is a very interesting book that’s very similar to Dr. James Mahaffey's Atomic Accidents. In no way is it anti-nuclear, it’s just a factual run through of nuclear incidents.
If you liked James Mahaffey's Atomic Accidents you'll enjoy this book. I recommend both books.

Factual and interesting
