A new killer is stalking the streets of London’s East End. Though newspapers have dubbed him ‘the Torso Killer’, this murderer’s work is overshadowed by the hysteria surrounding Jack the Ripper’s Whitechapel crimes.

The victims are women too, but their dismembered bodies, wrapped in rags and tied up with string, are pulled out of the Thames – and the heads are missing. The murderers like to keep them…©2013 Sarah Pinborough (P)2013 W.F. Howes Ltd Crime Fiction Historical Mystery Thriller & Suspense Suç Kurgu Cinayet

This book needed editing which could have made it a more succinct story and worthy of a better rating.

Rambling and over long.

This was the first time I've 'read' anything by Sarah Pinborough or heard Steven Crossley read and I will be looking out for both of them again - a great combination of gripping story and excellent narration.

A great listen

Not particularly engaging, although the narration was quite good. Took me months to finish it. The last third picked up a bit. I may come back to it again one day in case I am doing it a disservice.

I listened to this whilst running. I couldn't wait to go out running again to listen to what happened next! it was gripping, fascinating - I felt I read really there. I like the supernatural elements, and the fact a lot of it was based around facts and real people. can't wait to download the next bill - murder. hopefully narrated by the same man - he was brilliant.

can't fault it - wonderful

Often confusing and at times when they go back and forth in time its hard to understand and it makes for a gruelling listen. the narrator was great and the only reason I kept listening. Lest anyone wonder what the book was about. a murder of supernatural nature alongside the Jack the Ripper murders. Hard to keep track of the who's and when's and no really charismatic characters- nothing deep just annoying content. Can not recommend it.

Drag the story on far too long
