Charles Bingley is painfully aware that he has no purpose. Everything feels vacuous, hollow. Caroline has married and lives blissfully in Kent. Louisa has produced a child. Darcy is happily married. Everyone around him evolves, lives their lives. He is a weathercock. He is shallow. Therefore, he needs to find depth. And the best way to find it is to dig. Literally.

When Mr Charles Bingley glimpses Miss Mary Bennet's depth, he is enthralled. She has what he wants. She has what he needs. And she has a cat named after him, which is not the compliment he hopes it is.

A true romp. The characters emerge from the preceding series and work their way through many situations to find their destiny

Great fun

Oh my goodness this is soooo different yet the same wonderful interesting characters. All based around Charles (who you can't recognise he's so altered in the most humourously bonkers way. Still can't help but love him) And dear Mary who comes triumphantly into her own unique beautiful strong self.
Whilst it's LOL funny it also has insight into people who could be seen as overshadowed by intelligent, witty beautiful, full of love characters. Now she is loved for her beautiful self.
It is at times ridiculous but it's meant to be. I really enjoyed it. It definitely is a VARIATION of P&P ... most different but as in another comment says ...it works! I agree.

Excellent narrator but for me he came over too powerfully strong all the way through the book, for such a lighthearted story. Whist he has a beautiful voice i didn't notice it changing for all the different emotions that's encaptured in this story. JMPO

It's like going into a P&P alternative universe!

I never imagined the two main characters in this book getting together but...it kind of works. I like the way the book sets up for Lydia's story at the end. Not quite convinced by narrator. Loved Mr Bennet in this.
