Patrick's voice is so soothing, I couldn't help but finish it far too quickly. His life opened up thoughts and feelings about my own and made me double take some pre-conceptions. A fascinating listen. Well worth the time.

I’m not sure how to sum up this book in a succinct way as it immerses you in one man’s life story and carries you with him throughout what is a truly remarkable story! As a Yorkshire lass it took me home, then carried me on an unforgettable journey I could never have experienced in my own life. The humble origins of Sir Patrick’s early life and his wonderfully engaging story of how he found himself first in the theatre and then into Star Trek and other movies/tv shows was told with such profound emotion and raw honesty that it feels like you are listening to the life story of a beloved family member. I could listen to Sir Patrick’s wonderful voice all day and night and I expect he could bring even the most dull user manual to life were he to narrate it!

As a theatre fan, English lit nerd and absolute Trekkie to my core - what a treat. Beautifully written, executed in a way you’d expect from a Shakespearean actor. Such a lovely insight into a brilliant man. Reflections on love, grief, self image, art. All beautiful.

The book is a wonderful insight in to the life of the author. The audio version brings it to life, full of emotion and joy. I have thoroughly enjoyed every second and am sad I have reached the end. I will definitely listen again in the future.
