A #1 Wall Street Journal bestseller.

In the final book in Amazon Charts bestselling author Catherine Bybee’s Most Likely To trilogy, River Bend’s rebel follows in her father’s footsteps to become sheriff. But it might be time to forge her own path...

Some kids inherit a family business; Jo Ward inherited a badge. Once voted Most Likely to End Up in Jail, the town wild child has become sheriff - hell-bent on uncovering the truth about her father’s mysterious death. Life is quiet in rustic River Bend, but Jo longs for something beyond her small hometown and the painful memories it holds. All that keeps her sane is the support of her best friends, Melanie and Zoe.

But when Jo signs up for an expert law enforcement training seminar, she meets Gill Clausen, whose haunting eyes and dangerously sexy vibe just may challenge her single-minded focus. Commitment-phobic Jo can’t deny her attraction to the arrogant federal agent, and when odd things start happening around River Bend and danger surrounds her, she realizes she’ll need his help to discover who’s out to remove her from River Bend...permanently.

As Jo and Gill work together, it’s clear they make a great team. But can Jo loosen her grip on the past enough to let love in and reach for the future?

Like all her books' Catherine Bybee did a great job writing this book. In this third instalment, we see Jo, the last of the three friends (Mel & Zoe) find her father's killer and a romantic interest, who's sexy and loveable. Hats off to the author for having strong female characters and secondary characters all with depth and a great plot.

Worth the wait

This is the third and last book in the series and, like the second, it features a romance that develops in the first half, but then takes a back seat to the plot in the second half. Not a bad thing, as it’s great to see a newly formed couple making their relationship work whilst dealing with other problems. In this case the problem is solving the ten year old murder of the h’s father.

The romance in this book was real and strong – no silly misunderstandings – and they were both clear and honest about their developing feelings and commitment which is fairly unusual in romance books. The murder mystery was surprising well developed with a twist at the end that I did not see coming.

It’s good to the writer of this book honing her craft as she develops, and not making the mistake of churning out books that are mere reproductions of previous works. In this series her couples are more mature, the romances are more realistic and having plot lines that don’t just centre around the developing romance just add to the enjoying for the reader.

Great finish to series

Was able to listen to the trilogy one after the other without have same areas of each book revisited too much. Going to miss Riverbend, I became quite addicted.

Enjoyed all three books

I have not read the first two stories in this series but will now.. A great pace and storyline and great narrators bring the characters to life. Ms Bybee never fails to entertain
