Yakov Gagarin was Bratva royalty. A ruthless tactician. A man built to destroy.

Until the day it all went wrong—and the syndicate locked him in a cage.

Dr. Mila Agapova is the one assigned to fix him.

But Yakov doesn’t want fixing. He wants her.

Sharp-tongued, unshakable, utterly off-limits—She’s everything he shouldn’t touch.

But obsession doesn’t care about boundaries.

And Yakov has never been a man who plays by the rules.

Brilliant narration from Shane Martinez and Clinton Woodhams, who bring the drama, angst and steam to your ears.

Yakov has an emotional past and Mila seems the only one that seems to reach him. His walls are high and his pain is great. You know it wont take long to fall in love with him.
Mila is strong, knowing that his life has shaped him and truly knows how help him heal.
Angst, danger, redemption and pure spice.

Great story. I absolutely loved the series, very action packed but each one unique. Totally recommend, has all the things you look for in a mafia romance. Lots of hot sex, action and alpha romance.

I generally enjoy dark Bratva/mafia romances & this one was no exception. It took me a bit to get into it, but once I wrapped my brain around everything going on, I was hooked.

The book is fast paced & full of action, steamy scenes & unexpected plot twists. I liked the characters & their story.

I enjoyed the audiobook & thought the narrators did a fantastic job! Loved the accents.

Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Thank you to the author (A J Summers), publisher, narrators & Booksprout for the ALC. All opinions are my own.

I didn’t really know what to expect with this book as it’s the first that I’ve read/listened to in this series. Although A J Summers isn’t a new author to me, the mafia genre is. I was fully expecting to enjoy her writing style and characters, but I was apprehensive about the actual story. I really needn’t have been. As always, an amazing story line with descriptions that make you feel like you’re experiencing every sight, touch and sound first hand.

Job be damned, Mila risks everything when she falls in love with Yakov. She’s a counsellor, he’s her patient but that doesn’t stop the chemistry that builds between them. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions. You get the breathtaking heat, passion and a little bit of spice, you get anger and violence that is the Bratva Mafia’s world, and then there’s the counselling sessions and the memory that Yakov shares with Mila, of Anastasia’s last moments, heart breaking! I literally couldn’t stop listening, yet another sleepless night for me.

Oh, and again, the perfect narrators added a little something extra.
