Özet

Mine to protect. Mine to take. She is mine!

Five brothers.

One broken family.

A past that will haunt them forever.

"If you dare leave me for another - if you ever look at another man - if you ever let anyone else touch you...I’ll not let him live, Beauty. I won’t stop until I’ve ground his face into the dirt, until I’ve pulled out his eyes for looking at you, broken his mouth for daring to speak to you, until I’ve pulled out his guts, and," I glare at her, "smeared his blood on the ground."

Her breath hitches and her pupils dilate.

My thirst for violence seems to fulfill a need deep inside of her - one she doesn’t bother to hide from me, either.

"You’re not disgusted by my cruelty?" I tilt my head. "My penchant for brutality seems to appeal to you, Bellezza?"

"And what if it does?" She purses her lips, "What if it is the savagery at your core that attracts me...?"

This is the prequel to Mafia King in the dark mafia billionaire Arranged Marriage romance series.

This is the build up to when Michael meets Karma. I can’t wait for the full story it’s going to be explosive.

What a great start to a, new to me, series! Intense and fast moving, the scene is set for what I anticipate will be a compelling listen. Michael's presence is strong and focused. A protector and leader Michael is surrounded by his brothers who he leads and protects, keeping them as safe as he can from the dark, looming presence of their father. But his life is about to change. I am excited to continue this journey! As always, an immaculate performance from Jason Clarke as narrator. He brings a richness of tone and natural expression to the story drawing you into the narrative with seemingly effortless skill. 💖💖💖💖💖

A short setup novella from the male character's POV. Filled with violence and sex - exactly what you're looking for in an arranged marriage set in the mafia world - narrated deliciously by Jason Clarke.

The female POV preview at the end was enough to tell me I won't be continuing this series on audio - her voice is more suited to Regency romance or kids' cartoons than mafia BDSM.

I did listen to this out of order as I started with Mafia King. Probably best to start at the beginning but it was still ok to go back and listen to this prequel.
I enjoy L Steele’s books and enjoyed this prequel as you get introduced to the main character and start to understand his role in the family and the mafia. A good start to the series which I enjoyed

Actor is great and this really was engaging
