We fall not in love but in lust . . .

Lust, in all its myriad forms, consumes us. What won't we do to achieve our heart's desire? In these ten tales of twisted love master storyteller Roald Dahl explores how our darkest impulses reveal who we really are.

Collected together for the first time, stories include Madame Rosette, Neck, Georgy Porgy, The Visitor, The Last Act, The Great Switcheroo, Bitch, Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life, The Ratcatcher and Nunc Dimittis.

All the stories have a strange atmosphere but each is very clever, written by a master author and beautifully read.

Fantastic book. Highly recommend. Loved every minute of it 😁 (Oops, 15 word minimum apparently lol)

Roald Dahl's short stories are among the greatest ever written and the performers do a wonderful job, that cannot be argued. It is a bit disappointing that Penguin have decided to split up their definitive collection 'Completely Unexpected Tales' and, instead, produce a series of shorter collections based on arbitrarily decided themes. Curiously, one of the stories (The Umbrella Man) is included in two of the collections. Can't really knock the content but would have preferred it to have remained in the same length as the printed version.

Given the extra cost now associated with spreading the stories over several collections, it is very lazy to not title the Chapters. Each story has a title - they are not chapters in a novel.

Brilliant performance but lazily collected series.

I love RD and this is fun at some level, but predictable and indulgent. Some fantasies are best left in your head.

Some are wonderful, some are seemingly without purpose. The performances are largely golden, though I had to skip one chapter completely due to its poor rendition

A mixed bag
