Jess Miller is a focused, driven high school senior whose only goal is to get into the strict Christian college that her late mother attended. But when another student gets picked for early admission instead of her, she can see her dream slipping away.

Honestly, just read/listen to it! You can’t go wrong with anything written by Nicole Maser or anything narrated by Lori Prince. You’re in safe hands (although they may wreck you emotionally, they’ll always put you back together again by the end) ❤️

While this book is a good listen overall, at times I found it difficult to fully buy into the characters as I could not believe they would think or act the way they do. I think a better description of their emotions would have helped. Also, while it has plenty of good moments, it is a frustrating storyline and the 'will they, won't they' became repetitive and frustrating. The quality of both writing and editing is good and the narrator does a great job of bringing the story to life.

Just like Nicole’s other book, Turning Red (another amazing story and one of my favourite new perspectives on the classic Zombie Apocalypse), this book had me enraptured the whole time. The drama, emotions and excitement all felt so so real when listening to Lori’s performance as she puts so much expression into every one of her lines, really allowing you to feel the emotions as the characters go through their experiences.

This story will always hold a special place in my heart as it’s what helped me face my own fears and finally come out to my own family. So thank you Nicole and Lori, and anyone else involved in this book, for giving me an experience that has changed my life forever.
