The moment I see Oakley walk into the cafe, I know he's mine. I may be here to finish a job, but it's impossible to concentrate on anything but him. My fascination quickly turns into an obsession, which might be fortunate for him because I think he's trying to get himself killed.

Which is fine; I'll protect him. It doesn't matter how many lives I have to end to make Oakley mine.

excellent excellent excellent its absolutely an excellent read. Crea, makes it so easy to live in the books and makes you part of Lorien and Oakley

The underlying love

For a book that is just shy of 10hrs and the amount of background we get on every character, i think I was hoping for something more. Without giving spoliers, I think I would of liked Oakley witnessing Loren and possibly being involved. There is stuff going on but nothing major happens. its more of an introduction book, with 2 characters falling in love.

I'm Audhd, so I loved Lorens character. i get the lack of understanding social cues etc so I always champion those and I love a Dexter type of character. Plus he made me chuckle with how open he was, especially around the family.

I do have mixed feelings since I finished this book. I liked all the brothers, but I do feel this book lacked some action. The way it starts made me feel we were going on an adventure, but then it stayed luke warm. we never hit that crescendo.

I'm a big fan of Nick Russo the narrator, which was my main reason for listening.

overall its not a type of book you need to listen to again, but at the same time all the characters continue throughout the series, so I do want to check out the next book. it has left me intrigued.

not bad, but not really good either, just bland, could have been a lot more. and definetly not dark although the blurb suggests it.
