Kurt B. Boone
In this world of deep division and sorrow, where the innocent have trouble sleeping while evil lurks through the night, there are still a few glimmering beams of light which cut through the fear of the darkness. It is these which bring souls... and minds and hearts into the light of day....
In Looking For Myself, his debut collection of verse, talented young poet Kurt B. Boone speaks for a generation, telling tales of spirits lost and found and helping his peers find their own light. The essence of Boone's poetry speaks not only from experience but from a unique perspective: that of a young African-American male, from a heart and mind tired of the racism and hatred against his generation for their skin color, their age, their notions, and for the power - both good and bad - they so mightily wield.
Looking For Myself, with its powerful introduction by Noreen Mallory, advances a glorious vista through the heart and soul of a vibrant young man determined to help his brothers and sisters escape with him from the darkness and into a bright new tomorrow.
