The writing is superb and the life that Lou Diamond Philips brings to the story takes it to the next level.

I've enjoyed Tom Clancy in the past, but this book was really quite poor. Jack Ryan and fam seem to be the bad guys, operating an illegal special forces unit against the wishes of the president. It seems to be an argument for "anything goes" international ops. The presumption that a liberal president would be dangerous (installed by foreign agents working against the US) and blah blah. Really disappointing.

I'd rather hear the authors story than his politics

this is everything you would expect from a Tom Clancy novel, but some of the far right sentiments ruin it for me

Weak ending after a very good start and middle. You have to get it for the Welsh accent as others have said 🤣
