Wren

I always knew darkness crept through this city; like a shadow, it never really goes away, always watching, always waiting. People sin and people kill; it's a way of life. I just never expected to be thrown into the middle of a war I had no hope of surviving. Alexander Silver is as brutal as he is beautiful. A devil in disguise. The man destined to end me. I didn't go looking for trouble, and yet it found me, nonetheless. I could either join it or let it crush me.

Lex

Wren Valentine, my sweet Little Bird. I had no right dragging her into my world of violence and bloodshed, but I did it anyway. I am the king, sitting on a throne of chaos. She was supposed to be the enemy, the means to an end, but she became much more than that. In this life, you take what you want and strike down those who oppose you.

She is mine.

And I'll paint the streets red if anyone dares to take her.

Little Bird is book one in the Twisted City Duet. If you like dark, dirty, and suspenseful romance, this one's for you!

Warning! This is a dark romance and contains themes common in dark romances including, kidnap, violence, drug and alcohol use, sexual content, and strong language. It is not recommended for listeners under the age of 18. This book ends on a cliff-hanger.

I loved the dual narration of Joe Arden and Lucy Rivers

This is a dark, twisted, entertaining, steamy book. Lex is a mafia king who takes Wren as a pawn in a war. There is a connection and chemistry between them is hot. Lex is strong dominant and sexy. Wren is a feisty. Wren provokes Lex and and its very entertaining. Lots of secrets. Ends in a cliffhanger.

I really enjoyed this book mainly because of h
She is vicious, real and not afraid to express her opinion
She is funny and added a lot of interest to the plot
I enjoyed it so much and I'm working on the next book right away
The narrators are so so good!!!! especially Lucy 🫶🏻

The story was good but it felt rushed. Especially during the scenes where you wanted them to take their time, they hurried through. But even between paragraphs, they lacked any pause.

Still good enough for me to want to get the other book and finish the story though.

Readers could have been better

This was my first Ria Wilde's book, and won't be my last. This is the first book in the Twisted City Duet, a Dark Romance. This is a great introduction to Wren and Lex's story. The storyline is raw, intense, suspenseful, and captivating, filled with danger, action, and twists and turns. The story ends with a cliffhanger, as expected, and I am looking forward to listening to Twisted King, the next book in the series. Joe Arden and Lucy Rivers did an excellent job bringing this story to life. They are perfect as Wren and Lex.

Intense and Suspenseful!
