In Peter F. Hamilton and Gareth L. Powell's action-packed sci-fi adventure LIGHT CHASER, a love powerful enough to transcend death can bring down an entire empire.

Amahle is a Light Chaser – one of a number of explorers, who travel the universe alone (except for their onboard AI), trading trinkets for life stories.

But when she listens to the stories sent down through the ages she hears the same voice talking directly to her from different times and on different worlds. She comes to understand that something terrible is happening, and only she is in a position to do anything about it.

And it will cost everything to put it right.©2021 Rutland Horizon Ltd and Gareth L. Powell (P)2022 W. F. Howes Ltd Adventure Kurgu Science Fiction Space Exploration Space Opera

Firstly: Don’t believe the level of action promised by Audible’s description. It's by no means The Embers of War or The Void trilogies. What it is is a beautiful story about two star-parted lovers, one of whom does everything he can to forge a world where things can be better. The other is an extremely capable woman with an enviable star ship and genome.

A real masterpiece in my humble opinion.

Hard science fiction with a healthy smattering of romance

The concepts were brilliantly realised but unfortunately we had to have a rather soppy story framing it.
The narrator chose to give the heroine a rather childish and quirky speech pattern which I found annoying
I enjoyed The Hole in the Sky on Audible much more - the female narrator does a much better job in my opinion
Luckily Hamilton is back to brilliant form with his latest book Exodus

Excellent sci-fi with a rather soppy love story attached
