Will DCI Andy Gilchrist end up like the others - dead, beheaded on a beach?

The middle of winter in St Andrews. When a young woman's half-naked body is found on Fife's Coastal Path, frozen and with remnants of a rope manacle around her wrist, DCI Andy Gilchrist is given the case.

Gilchrist's investigation uncovers a bloody trail of shootings and executions that lead him to the heart of a trafficking war. Links to Scotland's foremost criminal family, the Home Office and a killer intent on expanding his territory, pull Gilchrist deeper into this murderous web until he comes face to face with the most dangerous man he has ever met.

Praise for T. F. Muir:

'Everything I look for in a crime novel.' Louise Welsh

'A truly gripping read, with all the makings of a classic series.' Mick Herron

'A clever thriller, tinged with melancholy.' Karen Campbell.

'Rebus did it for Edinburgh. Laidlaw did it for Glasgow. Gilchrist might just be the bloke to put St Andrews on the crime fiction map.' Daily Record©2013 T.F. Muir Crime Fiction Mystery Traditional Detectives Heyecan verici Korkutucu

Another excellent novel in the series. T F Muir treats us to his usual blend of gruesome plot lines, genuinely scary characters and no little action as the DI Gilchrist story marches forward. Into the pot though he has stirred a new ingredient in the form of a new sidekick. This character may well annoy you . . . but they are meant to . . . worth sticking with it to see how the chemistry between the characters develops.

Gilchrist gets a new Sidekick!

I really enjoyed this. If you have read the previous three books you will enjoy this. Like the previous novels the book has a good mixture of characters and some very tense scenes. There are some really chilling characters which are well written. Gilchrist also has a new sidekick who is the most irritable and annoying character - definitely a test for his and the readers patience! A good listen - very good performance from the reader. I will certainly keep reading the series.

Another great Gilchrist Novel

As others have said Jessie Janes is extremely annoying and not very plausible. No way in real life would she have ever got into the police with her family. Also that level of disrespect would never be tolerated. Who in the real world would still have a job after telling their boss to F off on the first day. Despite this it is till an enjoyable book. Hopefully she will mellow into the next book

I couldn't turn it off. A few unrealistic snippets easily ignored as the plot was so engaging.

Great listen.
