A Warhammer 40,000 Audiobook

A saviour pod screams a flaming path through the skies of Fortuna Minor, almost lost amidst the debris that rains down over the arid plains below. The Imperial fleet in orbit is in full retreat, their deployment undone by orkish cunning.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Follow the story of a leading Imperial military strategist as he attempts to almost single-handedly turn the tide of war against a ferocious ork Waaagh!. Discover how the Astra Militarum fight when they're outnumbered and outgunned.

THE STORY

Fortuna Minor is overrun by Speed Waaagh!s, its population enslaved to build weaponised effigies of the orks’ foul gods. For the Imperial forces on the planet, every hour is a hopeless fight for survival.

But into this nightmare steps Arcadian Leontus – Lord Commander of the Segmentum Solar, peerless tactician and mastermind of countless victories. Even stripped of his armies, Leontus has no intention to merely survive this war. He intends to win it.

Not sure if I'm a fan of the accent choice for the Atillan rough riders. I know it's set in the 40k timeline etc but I had expected a more Eurasian Accent for what are meant to be the ancestors of Huns. A minor point.

The story was short but interesting and well paced. The ending was a little too rushed for my taste.

Interesting look at a new character

This is a really great story and one that’s just so full of awesome moments and characterisation.

This is another one of those stories that creates a hero that feels down to earth plausible yet still so clearly The Man for the job.

I can’t honestly express how much I got from this book it’s just a great read and a really interesting gorilla style story.

In conclusion, if you ask someone who likes that every day hero in Warhammer definitely check this one out no super soldiers just raw human spirit and hope for a better tomorrow. And of course, destruction of those filthy green skin!

One of my new favourites

I was unsure of how this book and the Character of The Lord Solar would be portrayed. I wasn’t disappointed, great supporting characters and an interesting view of Leontus himself. My only criticism is it’s now over and I’d love more!!! Recommended!!

What a great book!!

Superb book, I want Leontus model now. Highly recommend for any true son or daughter of the Imperium

I might have just become a guard fan

Wasn’t expecting too much. Sometimes when GW just decide there is an important character we’ve never heard of before the book tries too hard. But this was a good solid story. It’s more of a cat and mouse story than huge grandstanding armies charging for glory.

Great Story
