Dani has spent her life following the rules. All she wants is to earn her blue suit, make it to the science sector, and prove she's more than a collector sent to scavenge artifacts from dead worlds.

She just has to survive this one last mission.

But the planet isn't as empty as it should be. Something is stalking her in the ruins—fast, relentless, and far too intelligent. A deadly alien with sharp instincts, strange features, and an unsettling fixation on her. They're ruining her mission at every turn, and she's certain they want to harm her. Or worse.

Kryxis has spent his life in solitude, a predator feared by all. And he prefers it that way. But lately, the silence has grown hollow. He craves something more—someone to share his den, his hoard, his hunger.

Then a ship arrives. And with it, her.

The human is fearless, reckless, and utterly captivating. At first, he thinks he'll devour her. But now? Now he's determined to claim her, to prove he's more than a monster in the dark—he's a warrior worthy to be her mate.

Contains mature themes.

I adore this series, and this has been my favourite book in the series so far.
The first half of the book is a bit scary, but I quite like the element of horror throughout this series. it's makes the books quite original and different to the others, in a good way.
There was also bits that pulled on my heart strings.
World building was spectacular and I could really see what was going on in my minds eye.
I also really liked the side characters in this book. I really hope we see them in future books. all the crew were very unique with distinct personalities of their own.
I could also feel the chemistry between the main characters. such a well written book. I cannot wait for the next one.
The voice actress was excellent also. She has a nice smooth voice.

The other stories I’ve listened to a few times. This is the first time where I thought once was enough. This story just didn’t do anything to keep my interest and I kept rewinding bits. The narrator was ok and that was it. I really love the creation of the Vrishas, their warriors and the series of books. This book was not for me.

Goodish
