A MESMERIZING BREAK-OUT CRIME THRILLER FULL OF BREATHTAKING TWISTS.

Nic always hated clubbing. She only went out that night because she'd promised a friend.

She wakes up, naked and bound in an abandoned cottage in the middle of nowhere. Dappled light comes in through a dirty window. Her body is covered in cuts. Across the room her friend groans in pain.

A shadow passes the window. He's back.

He picks up a knife. He begins to cut her friend. In that moment of bloody frenzy, Nic wrenches free and runs. She's finally safe. But this is just the beginning.

Detectives Asha Harvey and Aaron Birch arrive at the scene hours later. There is no body, there is no sign of the killer. It's as if it never happened.

Every twist and turn was excellent. Absolutely loved it and can't wait to check out the sequels.

Tbh, I struggled with the irish accent of the narrator, and there was a high pitched noise in the background, it sounds like interference, it isn't on my other audio books so must be a fault with this one.
I listened to half of the book, but found it a bit boring, I might finish it at some point, just not this week.

Struggled.

This was epic to say the least, great storyline, so many twists and turns, great characters and the narration was excellent keeping you engaged and absorbed right to the very end. Great ending. I am surprised how someone can heal and survive so many injuries, poor Nic.

Great ending

First up I’d like to say that I persevered with this audio book because I found the story very good, well paced and full of twists.
It was a challenge though because the narrator was obviously not local to the area and by God did she mangle the accent.
A lot of the places she mentioned are local to me but every time she mentioned Kinnego or Maghaberry it was like getting my legs waxed.
I’d love to listen to other books by this author but not if they are narrated by the same person.

Painful listen
