The stunning conclusion of a worldwide phenomenon - from the boldly original author of Captive Prince and Prince's Gambit.

His identity now revealed, Damen must face his master, Prince Laurent, as Damianos of Akielos, the man Laurent has sworn to kill. On the brink of a momentous battle, the future of both their countries hangs in the balance. In the south, Kastor's forces are massing. In the north, the Regent's armies are mobilizing for war. Damen's only hope of reclaiming his throne is to fight together with Laurent against their usurpers. Forced into an uneasy alliance, the two princes journey deep into Akielos, where they face their most dangerous opposition yet. But even if the fragile trust they have built survives the revelation of Damen's identity, can it stand against the Regents final, deadly play for the throne?

A wonderful end to a fantastic trilogy. C. S. Pacat’s writing is mesmerising and so memorable. These books, Damen and Laurent will stay with me and for that I am grateful. P. S. For those of you like me, who is sometimes an impatient reader, audio edition narrated beautifully by Stephen Bel Davies is a perfect way to slow down and enjoy the story and the stunning writing. Highly recommended as an audio book.

i was ready to DNF the capitive prince but stuck with it as the last third really set the next 2 books up. they had me gripped and this book almost finished me off with all the emotions.

I loved the complex characters and getting to see them change and develop.

the love between damen and laurent, was beautiful to see develop, so well written, heartfelt and real.

this is one of the few times I wished there was an epilogue set a fews later.

loved this

KR triumphantly concludes this Trilogy. Many times I doubted that Damen and Laurent would win the day with every plot twist or set back or our men being put through yet another ringer! Yet they do having given everything to amend and atone. The Regent had a ‘boo hiss’ quality towards the end but manipulations and machinations were fun,

🎧 I repeat myself when I say that the explicit scenes are very elegantly written. They are so sublime, so exquisite and, so, thank goodness that Stephen Bel Davies does them all justice! The narrator has such tight control of the vocal choices for all speaking parts that not once does he slip or let his chosen inflection waiver in heated exchanges or snappy verbal spats or group scenes. The narration work by Mr Davies is understatedly excellent throughout. There is just simply nothing quite like the Captive Prince Trilogy. Thank you so much, Ms Pacat. Very nicely done, Mr Davies.

Just....wow. The plot, the writing, the pacing. I need a holiday to recover from the series.

Enjoyable story that is well written with likeable characters.  Narration is good though not to my taste.
