Every man has his price.

Coming out of the Dakotas with a little bit of extra scratch was more than I could have reasonably expected, given how much trouble we'd found ourselves in. Little did I know how much deeper the rabbit hole could go.

When I was offered a job to hunt down and stop a group of flamboyant assassins, I immediately said what any self-respecting poker player would say: No. No way. Absolutely not. Are you out of your mind?

What's that? Four hundred thousand? Nah. Can't spend it if you're dead.

Say that again? You're offering me what?

I tried to hold out, folks. I really did. But every man has his price, so Cougs, Ruse, Kahni, and I found ourselves on the road toward the city of my dreams, and the absolute last place I should ever go.

Viva Las Vegas!

Warning: This book has adult themes, including a slow-burn harem and violence.

A very unconventional take in the genre but so worth a listen. Comedy great, MC and Support characters all have character. the escalation of things and unpredictability, conflict and banter around the characters actually feels real, If only there was maybe 1 or 2 explicit scenes like his other works but that isnt a deal breaker. If more comes please i hope they keep the same Narrators. Daniels voice is perfect and Rebecca always never fails to deliver.

Like all of his books the quality never lessened, and when you add in the vocal talents of Daniel & Rebecca you have an amazing listen.

Great

It’s a good take on the classic PI hunting down people in an apparent lawless city. With superpower not visible making everyone a potentially deadly adversary.

Good modern pulp noir
