There's no place like home...

For teacher Jenna McKnight, nothing spells "heartbreak" like finding her husband with somebody else--in her bed. It's clearly time to reinvent herself. A new body, a new city, and a new job later, she's done just that. The beautiful Auckland villa isn't really her home, though. Finn Douglas and his kids aren't really her family, however much she wishes they were. And playing house can be a dangerous game.

Rugby star Finn Douglas is just looking for a temporary nanny and housekeeper. Not a girlfriend, and definitely not a wife. He can't resist Jenna's cooking, it's true. Who knew he'd have so much trouble resisting her? He wants to do what's right for his kids. But waiting is so hard...

Note: This romance, like New Zealand, contains a bit of steam. If that isn't your cuppa, maybe visit some other country... er, audiobook.

Would you listen to Just for Now again? Why?

I was surprised by this audio because I liked Jenna and Finn and their story more after listening to the audiobook than I did at first reading of the book. Why is that?
Well Claire seems to give more pull to their characters with her reading and it just felt convincing. I felt for and with them.
OK, audio is talking - but her actual descriptive narration is also full of expression. Can't fault this !

I really enjoyed the story and it was read by one of the most talented readers I've come across so far. I was sad when I finished the book, I wanted it to carry on because I loved the characters.

A very enjoyable book complemented by excellent narration. The whole series is beautifully written and not to be missed.

Wonderful series

This is a great series, and although they have a common theme (All Black Rugby players from New Zealand) they do not get formulaic or boring.
This book is good, but not the best in the series. The romance is ok but with no great angst or problems, it was pleasant to listen to but nothing memorable. The ending, with an unexpected pregnancy, was a bit cliche, but quickly resolved with suitable apologies where required and a sweet epilogue. A lovely book, but not one I will want to listen to again.

The reading of the book is great however the characters are one dimensional and unrecognisable in contemporary society. As much an insult to men as it is to women.
The racial slurs, brought up in the context of football, were left unchallenged and unexplored by any of the characters, which is surely inexcusable in today’s world?

Chauvinistic with a touch of racism
