Özet

In this full-length Just William novel, William and the Outlaws decide to form the Knights of the Square Table, 'rightin' wrongs' for a minor fee ('Small wrongs: sixpence. Big wrongs: one shillin'.) In their quest to earn enough money to become tramps, they stop at no amount of do-gooding, embarking on a plan to marry off their older brothers. William becomes a veritable Don Juan as he woos a visiting film star for his brother (much to the surprise and annoyance of his brother's girlfriend.) Soon the gang have planned a midnight haunting to scare off old monkey face from the big house on the hill - after all, where else will they find a home for the happy young couple? Martin Jarvis portrays the whole gang in this riotous comedy that leaves William teetering on the brink of disaster and success... 'Martin Jarvis's recording of Richmal Crompton's Just William stories are works of genius' - Independent.

I love just William and this as always is brilliant. Martin Jarvis loves his subject so dearly that he always brings every story to fantastic wicked life.
The only thing I have to say is that this is a very poor rip from the original cassette version. You can hear the spooling on the track. This would be fine and I don't mind usually, but I really wish audible would put warnings on poor quality recordings. The BBC do this on their sites and on their CD's and I believe it only fair to know what you are buying. There is also some voice drag. How very retro, I feel 8 years old again and frantically trying to rescue my beloved tapes before my player chewed them up!
Apart from that outstanding.

Brilliant; shame about the rip.

once again Martin Jarvis narrates excellently . I Love these 'books', it would be helpful if the stories didn't repeat quite so much-it's possible to buy the book to find most of the stories covered in the BBC compilation's. Still a 'jolly good listen' !

excellent !

I loved this story as a kid when i had it on cassette. Unfortunately this has the ending cut off for some reason which ruins it slightly.

Where’s the end?
