John Calvin stands as one of the most influential figures in Christian history, a theologian whose ideas shaped the course of the Protestant Reformation and continue to impact churches, politics, and culture today. From his early years in France to his exile, reform efforts in Geneva, and enduring legacy, this book offers an in-depth exploration of Calvin’s life, theology, and the world he helped transform. Through a detailed chronological narrative, John Calvin examines Calvin’s theological development, his conflicts and triumphs in Geneva, and the controversies that defined his ministry, including the Servetus affair. It explores his foundational doctrines—predestination, church discipline, and the sovereignty of God—alongside the spread of Calvinism across Europe, the rise of Presbyterianism, Puritanism, and its profound influence on politics, economics, and Western thought. This book also delves into the history of the Huguenots, offering a unique window into how Calvin’s followers endured persecution while carrying his vision across the world. A final chapter presents a biblical defense of Calvin’s arguments, engaging readers with the theological foundations of his work. Whether you see Calvin as a hero of the faith or a controversial figure, this book invites you to step into his world, examine his writings, and consider his enduring impact. Scholarly yet accessible, John Calvin is an essential listen for anyone seeking to understand one of Christianity’s most profound reformers and the movement he helped shape.©2025 AM Publishing (P)2025 AM Publishing Christianity History
